If you drive a vehicle over three years old, the annual testing of your vehicle is required by law to ensure it meets minimum road safety and environmental standards.
MOT tests take approximately 30-45 minutes and cover test and checks to the likes of tyres, wheels, breaks, horn, exhaust, mirrors, doors, boot, seats, fuel system, seatbelts, chassis, steering, wipers, windscreen, lights and registration plate.

Your MOT is due three years after the date in which you registered the vehicle. You don’t need an MOT in the first three years of the car being on the road. Thereafter an MOT test is due annually.
Your MOT is a test to ensure your vehicle meets the standards set out by the DVSA. It will check window wipers, driver visibility (windscreen and mirrors), horn, seat belts, seats, exhaust, fuel system & emissions, bodywork, including doors, brakes, wheels & tyres, vehicle identification number (VIN), registration plate, lights, signalling equipment, steering and suspension.
Your MOT will expire 12 months after your last MOT. If your MOT expires, your insurance will no longer be valid.
If your vehicle fails its MOT, then you will be informed what repairs need to happen to make sure it passes and can be back on the road safely. We offer a free retest if you vehicle fails its MOT.
